Gerard Sanmartí and Gabriele Schiavon met at Fabrica, the creative center of the Benetton group. After entering a contest to design a cabin in Hawaii, being selected, and spending a month in the Pacific islands, they decided to set up "a real studio and try to get away with design." From there Lagranja Design was born. Today, halfway between Spain and Italy, they combine teaching with industrial design, setting up exhibitions, commercial interior design and even the design of homes and hotels. With a clear commitment to artisan work, taking care of all the projects and a complete development, they have managed to transmit their own style with very different registers: "(Being) a very multifaceted studio, we must know how to differentiate the projects."
